Zinaida Grechanii met with the delegation of the World Bank
The Chairperson of the Moldovan Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, met today with the World Bank Delegation headed by the World Bank Director for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the priority agenda and the prospects for further cooperation. They noted that the Republic of Moldova and the World Bank have developed good relations of cooperation, the World Bank demonstrates openness to support the reforms.
Speaking about external financial assistance in the form of grants or loans, the speaker stressed that it should be capitalized transparently, correctly, and efficiently.
“Let's not forget that there people stay behind every reform. People are the final recipients of this assistance, and they need to feel the beneficial effects of change,” Grechanii noted.
“The authorities are determined to ensure political stability, attract investors to the country, eradicate corruption and fair justice.
It is necessary to reorganize the country's economic structure, noting that it has a huge potential for export and a promising production platform,” said the Speaker of the Parliament.
The meeting was also attended by Vladimir Golovatyuk, Chairman of the Commission on State Control over Public Finances, and Dmitry Alayba, Vice-Chairman of the Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance.
