Igor Dodon held a working meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan

President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon held a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Moldova, Gudsi Osmanov.

The parties discussed issues of bilateral relations in the trade, economic, energy and humanitarian spheres, and noted the great unrealized potential of our countries and spoke out for intensifying ties in all areas of mutual interest.

In the same context, they stressed the importance of holding the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which has not been convened since 2012. It is also planned to hold a business forum and attract Azerbaijani companies to participate in thematic exhibitions in the Republic of Moldova.

The Head of State emphasized the interest of the Republic of Moldova in attracting investors from Azerbaijan to implement infrastructure projects. In particular, in the construction of roads.

I expressed gratitude to the leadership of Azerbaijan for significant assistance in implementing social projects, especially in the Gagauz autonomy. The construction of the Cultural and Educational Center is being completed in the city of Chadyr-Lunga, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The corresponding agreement was reached following a personal meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during my official visit to Baku in June 2017.

I thanked the Azerbaijani side for invitation to the Baku Global Forum, in which I had the honor to participate in 2018 and 2019. I am considering a trip to the next Forum, scheduled for March 12-14, 2020.

At the end I confirmed invitation to Ilham Aliyev to pay an official visit to the Republic of Moldova next year
,” said Igor Dodon.
