The Parliament of Moldova again adopted the draft Code of Audiovisual Services, rejected by the President
The Parliament of Moldova, with the votes of 53 deputies, again adopted the draft of the new Code of Audiovisual Services, which was previously rejected by the President Igor Dodon. The new code will again be handed over to the President of the Republic of Moldova for promulgation.
According to Moldpres agency, the document provides that the budget of the national state media service provider will consist of subsidies from the state budget and own funds. Subsidies from the state budget will be established annually in the Law on the State Budget, representing the amount of subsidies from the state budget for the previous year, indexed by the consumer price of the last fiscal year.
Own revenues of a national government media service provider will come from the amounts collected from the transmitted audiovisual messages as part of high-profile events, the amounts received from the activity, including income from the sale of programs or copyright from co-production, donations, sponsorship and other legitimate income . The budget performance report will be submitted annually by the CEO, it will be approved by the Supervisory Board and published on the institution’s website.
