The Liberal Democrats are going to rename the state language of Moldova
Draft amendment of Article 13 of the Constitution is sent to the Constitutional Court of Moldova. The head of the LDPM faction in the parliament Tudor Deliu noted that the pro-European majority intended to rename the state language in this way, restore the "historical justice".
"The LDPM faction in the parliament initiated the procedure of changing the Article 13 of the Constitution, namely, replacing "Moldovan language functioning on the basis of Latin graphics" in the "Romanian language ". We want to establish historical justice. We are pleased with the fact that today we managed to collect the necessary number of signatures in order to send the draft to the Constitutional Court," realitatea.md quotes.
The draft law was signed by 34 deputies.
Recall, the Head of State has repeatedly condemned attempts of the ruling majority to rename the state language, calling them the Unionist idea realization, which should be prohibited by law.
