The Head of State held a working meeting with the Japanese Ambassador to Moldova Masanobu Yoshi


President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Chisinau, Mr. Masanobu Yoshi. The Moldovan leader welcomed the strengthening and expansion of the Moldovan-Japanese relations over the past years, emphasized the interest of the Republic of Moldova in enhancing bilateral dialogue with Japan in the future.

I advocated expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, in particular the exchange of new technologies and attraction of the Japanese investment in the Moldovan economy.

I sincerely thanked the Japanese government for the continued support of our country over the years. Japan is one of the largest donors of our country, after the USA and the European Union,
” the President said.

Igor Dodon welcomed the readiness of the Japanese side to participate in the implementation of projects supporting the Moldovan economy, such as financing the purchase of fire engines, issuing loans on favorable terms for the modernization of agriculture and creation of the Agrarian and Food Center.

I conveyed sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Japanese diplomat for the gracious reception at the ceremony of intronizing His Imperial Majesty Naruhito where the delegation of the Republic of Moldova took part in October this year.

Speaking about the changes in the political arena of Moldova, I emphasized that the current Government will continue the reforms that have been launched, comply with all previous commitments and continue to pursue a balanced foreign policy
,” concluded Igor Dodon.
