Ion Chicu attends EBRD investment forum


Prime Minister Ion Chicu attends an EBRD Investment Summit on the Eastern Partnership, organized in London by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the EaP initiative.

According to the government’s press and protocol relations department, the event brings together the heads of state and government of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, high-level representatives of the EU and the EIB, as well as international investors to identify new opportunities in major national projects, and intensify trade cooperation between Member States.

In his speech, Prime Minister of Moldova spoke about development of the national economy and noted the progress made by the government to stimulate investment growth in key sectors and sustainable economic development of the country.

The Prime Minister appreciated the important role of the EBRD in supporting the country's economic development, both through financial and consulting projects aimed at attracting foreign direct investment, and through dialogue with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova in order to promote the reform program.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is one of the main development partners of the Republic of Moldova, the total EBRD investment in our country is 1.29 billion euros through 128 projects.
