President met with Vice President of Japan International Cooperation Agency Junichi Yamada


During the visit to Tokyo, the Head of State met with Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Junichi Yamada. Igor Dodon expressed gratitude to the Japanese side for the support provided to the Republic of Moldova in the form of grants and financing of various projects, including training courses for civil servants.

In addition, the Moldovan leader welcomed the start of work of the JICA office in Kiev and suggested opening a similar office in Chisinau.

Over the past 15 years, Japan has funded a $37.2 million to support unprivileged farmers.

During the meeting, I stressed the importance of three projects that are for consideration by the Government of Japan: modernization of fire equipment for $14 million, construction of the Agrarian Food Center in Chisinau, Modernization of agricultural machinery and equipment.

I assured that the Presidential Administration would support mutually beneficial Moldovan-Japanese initiatives as part of the development assistance program,
” Igor Dodon said following the meeting.
