Moldova has risen two positions in the ranking of the most competitive countries

Our republic has risen to two positions in the Global Competitiveness Index, which is annually compiled by the World Economic Forum. Moldova is 86th in the list of 141 countries in the world.

According to, Moldova has improved its position, gaining 56.7 points compared to 55.5 last year. The Moldovan economy is located after Argentina, Sri Lanka and Ukraine and overtakes Tunisia, Lebanon and Algeria. Ukraine and Romania were also ahead of our republic, and took 85 and 51 places, respectively. Above Moldova, there are also such CIS countries as Russia (43), Kazakhstan (55), Azerbaijan (58), Armenia (69), Georgia (74). The rating was compiled according to 12 criteria.
