Igor Dodon: I will fully support development of the National Stroke Program


Today in Chisinau President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon attended the opening of the National Conference “Priority Actions in the Field of Stroke Control Policy in the Republic of Moldova”.

The Head of State welcomed more than 250 international experts from over 15 countries and local experts in the field of cerebral vascular diseases who attended the event and emphasized that holding such a large-scale scientific forum in our country was a great honor, which meant recognition and appreciation of the contribution of the Moldovan scientists to the European and world medical science.

Igor Dodon emphasized that strokes were the main cause of disability in the adult population and the second most common cause of death both globally and in the Republic of Moldova.

"This problem has a negative psychological, physical and financial impact on patients, their families, the healthcare system and society as a whole.

Such meetings will continue, and the results of debates and analysis in the framework of this important event will contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of the treatment of cerebral vascular diseases, as well as development of the national strategy for combating strokes.

Concluding my welcoming speech, I assured those present that I would fully support the development of the National Stroke Control Program, as well as its successful implementation
