Igor Dodon discussed with the Turkish Ambassador the possibility of holding a bilateral meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan in late September

The Head of State Igor Dodon held a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Moldova, Gyrol Sökmensüer.

The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations, noted the need for their activation in the most important areas in the framework of strategic partnership between our countries.

The President thanked the Ambassador for actively contributing to the deepening of the Moldovan-Turkish dialogue and expressed gratitude to the Turkish leadership for implementation of many socio-cultural and infrastructure projects in the Republic of Moldova, especially in the Gagauz autonomy.

In this regard, Igor Dodon praised the efforts of the Turkish partners, who are completing reconstruction of the football stadium in Comrat. The facility complies with all international standards and is being built thanks to a personal agreement between the autonomy Bashkan Irina Vlah and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in 2018.

In addition, the parties discussed the opening of the multifunctional sports complex Chișinău Arena planned for October.

I believe that this Arena, which has no analogues, is necessary for our country, so we are doing our best to complete the construction work and putting the complex into operation.

At the end of the conversation, we spoke about the possibility of holding a bilateral meeting with President Erdogan at the end of September “on the sidelines” of the UN General Assembly in New York
,” Igor Dodon said.
