President held a meeting with the heads of commercial banks
Today the Head of State held a meeting with the heads of commercial banks of our country. Igor Dodon noted that it was a continuation of a series of meetings that took place this week with representatives of trade unions and business circles in order to identify problems existing in these areas, as well as search for its solutions.
The Head of State stressed the role of the banking sector in development of the business environment and investments climate, noting that the Presidential Administration, in coordination with the Government and Parliament, was determined to make every effort to remove barriers to the development of this important sector.
The President pointed out the need to take concrete measures to improve the international image of our country after the scandals related to money laundering, theft of a billion, etc.
“I consider appropriate to organize an Economic Forum with international professionals, heads of international financial institutions and well-known banking groups this autumn to inform international partners about recent reforms in this sector,” said Igor Dodon.
“I called on the participants to send the President all their proposals and initiatives to study and then send them to Parliament for adoption.
I noted that the result of today's conversation and further communication, which will become permanent, would be development and promotion of a policy of consolidating the banking system, as well as enhancing its role in the economic development of the country,” the President said.
