Igor Dodon met with the families of Moldovan pilots freed from Afghan captivity
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, met with the families of Moldovan pilots - Lionel Buruyana and Mikhail Crihan, who spent three and a half years in Afghan captivity and were released in February of this year at the request of the President of Moldova and assistance of the Russian Federation.
“The pilots told me that their health condition has improved. They thanked the Russian authorities and the President of the Republic of Moldova for assistance in their release and opportunity to return to their families.
I gave their families vouchers to the sea, for a period of 14 days in Sochi - this is a gift from Igor Chaika, co-chairman of the Association “Business Russia”.
In addition, I congratulated Bianca Buruyana, who is now four years old, all the time she grew up practically without a father. I wished her a joyful childhood with her family.
I want to once again express my gratitude to the leadership of the Russian Federation for the assistance rendered during the release of our hostages, for respect and compassion for our citizens,” said Igor Dodon.
