Igor Dodon discussed bilateral relations with the Ambassador of South Korea to Moldova Lee Yang Gu
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, held a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Moldova (with residence in Kiev), Mr. Lee Yang Gu, in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission in our country.
The parties discussed various aspects of bilateral relations and agreed on the need for their expansion, since the current volume of trade and economic cooperation does not reflect the real development potential.
At the same time, as the Moldovan leader notes, the Republic of Korea is a major supplier of high-tech products to Moldova, and this industry is of great interest to economic agents from both countries. In addition, free trade agreements of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union, the CIS and Turkey makes our country attractive to South Korean investors.
“At the same time, I stressed that in order to ensure economic growth and attract foreign investors, it is necessary to achieve stabilization of the domestic situation in the Republic of Moldova and implementation of a balanced foreign policy strategy between the East and the West.
At the end of the conversation, I thanked Mr. Lee Yang Gu for facilitating the development of relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Korea and wished him success in his further diplomatic activity,” said Igor Dodon.
