Socialists will appeal in the court the number of polling stations abroad
The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova will file a complaint with the Constitutional Court in connection with the government’s decision to open 125 polling stations abroad.
This was stated by the deputy of the Party of Socialists Vlad Batryncha. According to him, this decision needs to be revised, otherwise the results of the elections will be questioned, ipn.md reports.
The deputy noted that this decision would be appealed in the European structures, such as the OSCE and the Council of Europe.
The government decided to open 125 polling stations abroad for the parliamentary elections of February 24. Most polling stations will be open in Italy (29), Romania and the USA (12 each), the Russian Federation (11), France (7), Portugal and Spain (5 each).
The PSRM expresses deep indignation at the decision to open on only 11 polling stations the territory of the Russian Federation where no more than 10% of the total number of Moldovans in the Russian Federation will be able to vote.
