The Head of State held a meeting with the Head of the Council of Europe office in Moldova
The first meeting of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, and the Head of the Council of Europe office in the Republic of Moldova, the representative of France, William Massolen, took place.
The Head of State noted the active cooperation of state and public institutions of our country with the Council of Europe as one of the most important international organizations.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to preparation of the Republic of Moldova for the upcoming parliamentary elections in February.
“In this context, I stressed the need for a more active involvement of the Council of Europe in order to monitor the electoral process and summarize its results. I assured Mr. Massolen that the leadership of the Republic of Moldova would make every effort to ensure the most transparent and fair elections,” Igor Dodon said.
In addition, the President of Moldova told the Head of the Council of Europe Office about the essence of the basic foreign policy strategy of the Presidential Administration: building balanced mutually beneficial relations with both the West and the East based on the constitutional principle of the permanent neutrality of the Republic of Moldova.
