From October 10 passports in Moldova will be issued for 10 years
Corresponding amendments to the Law on the National Passport System were published in the Monitorul Oficial, and are subject to execution within two months. Currently, travel documents are issued for 7 years.

According to innovations, the validity of the passport was extended to 10 years, the concept of "ethnicity" is excluded. It should be noted that the validity of a passport issued to a child under 7 years will be four years, and the passports of children from 7 to 16 years will be issued for seven years, writes bizlaw.md.

As for biometric data, the blood group is excluded. There will remain a photo of the owner, a digital image of the face, fingerprints, as well as a personal signature (from 14 years old).

In addition, an electronic identity card will also be issued for 10 years. In case a person needs to receive an electronic certificate for a period of up to a year, until he or she is 10, 16, 25 or 45 years old, the certificate is issued for a period in accordance with age.

At the same time, diplomatic passports will be issued to sons and daughters under the age of 18, as well as persons over 23 years of age who are studying in another country and are not married.
