The parliamentary commission said "no" to European integration in the Constitution
The parliamentary commission on human rights and inter-ethnic relations unanimously adopted a negative conclusion on the draft law providing for amendments to the country's supreme law. The innovations, in particular, concerned the proclamation of the European integration as a strategic goal of the development of Moldova. The initiative belongs to the Democrats and their satellites from the People's European Party. Despite the reasons given by the authors, the parliamentary commission made a negative verdict.
Let us note that earlier the project was criticized by the country's President and socialists. Both the Head of State and the country's largest opposition party noted that it was up to the people to decide such questions in a referendum.
