Moldovan skier took 41th place at the Olympics
The first discipline for Christopher Hurl at the Olympic Games became slalom. Despite the error on the start, the naturalized Austrian took 41th place among 65 participants, with a result of 1: 22.25. After recovering from injury, Hurl chose not to compete in the slalom to focus on the supergiant, reports IPN.
17 athletes did not finish the competition. In slalom, the Austrian Marcel Hirscher (2: 06.52) won. On the second and third place were the Frenchmen Alexis Pintiuro (2: 06.75) and Victor Myuff-Jande (2: 07.54).
Moldova has been participating for the seventh time in the Winter Olympics. In Pyeongchang, Moldova is represented by two athletes: Nikolai Gaiduk (cross-country skiing) and Christopher Hurl.
The best result in the history of Moldova on the white Olympiad was registered in 2006, when the Moldavian biathlete Natalia Levchenkova took the 8th place.
