The Constitutional Court will clarify the procedure for approving Eugen Sturza the Minister of Defense
Today, on October 20, the Constitutional Court of Moldova must consider the appeal of the government and specify conditions for the temporary transfer of the powers of the Head of State to the Cabinet or the parliament.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip noted that the request related to the appointment of a candidate from the parliamentary majority, in particular the Democratic Party, Eugen Sturza to the post of defense minister.
Recall that in September, PDM leader Vladimir Plahotniuc said that they nominated Eugen Sturza a candidate for the post of head of the defense department, who previously served as adviser to the government of Yuri Leanca and was sponsored by the Soros foundation, which, by law, is a good reason for refusal. In addition, according to the Moldovan President, who categorically opposed the appointment an incompetent in defense affairs person to this responsible post, Eugen Sturza has the most distant ideas about the national army.
The President has repeatedly stated that he will not sign a decree on his appointment as minister. Igor Dodon offered his candidate - ex-defense minister, army general Victor Gaichuk, who, in turn, was rejected by the parliamentary majority.
