Moldovan President met with the head of the Council of Europe Office in Moldova
Moldovan President Igor Dodon met with the head of the Council of Europe Office in Moldova Jose-Luis Herrero. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation between the Council of Europe and the Republic of Moldova.
Jose-Luis Herrero informed the President of the Office activities in our country, noting the main priorities of cooperation. European politician said the Council of Europe's intention was to continue to cooperate with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova.
Igor Dodon praised the level of relations existing between the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe. The President thanked the Council of Europe for multilateral assistance in promoting reforms in Moldova.
Moldovan President stressed the importance of the CE position in achieving the primary goals. In this regard, Igor Dodon said the reform of the General Prosecutor's Office, the implementation of which today, in his opinion, did not meet the expectations of citizens and partners on development. Examples of this include, in particular, the appointment of a new General Prosecutor, decision on which was appealed to the competent institution.
Also during the meeting questions in the area of capital legalization law, the status of Gagauzia and the Transnistrian conflict settlement were raised.
"We have accumulated some experience. I am open for discussion and for effective dialogue. We will discuss many sensitive issues ", - Igor Dodon concluded.
